COURSE OVERVIEW:
The PROTECTOR MINDSET 201 will test students’ ability to make critical decisions under different types of stress and cultivate the confidence to apply appropriate BREACHING & HOSTAGE RESCUE TECHNIQUES to intervene during an active shooter situation.
This course is designed for the Law Enforcement Student who is in the RIGHT PLACE at the RIGHT TIME & is the RIGHT PERSON. SROs, Patrol, and Tac Team members are all encouraged to come out. We encourage all officers to attend regardless of whether they are on a Tactical Team.
Students will learn leading-edge tactics used today by TIER-1 teams to search and clear a structure mitigating complex, deadly force encounters. You will learn how to identify what type of environment you’re in that will assist in your decision-making when choosing a tactic/tool to apply. You will leave with a basic understanding of breaching and the door and jamb construction. You will be able to identify different style doors, including panic bar doors and other fire-rated materials that sometimes change the method of breaching.
This course is designed to increase operational capabilities individually and as a team; you will learn how to become a Force Multiplier in these dangerous environments where it is guaranteed convergence onto the scene with varied levels of skill and dress. Like any tool/technique, it has to be there when you need it, and you need to know how to use it effectively & efficiently.
Students will receive detailed course instruction, demonstrations, practical, real-life force-on-force scenarios, and immediate diagnostic feedback. Students will leave this course with purpose, clarity, confidence, and the tools/techniques to stop active shooters. The environment and objectives will be realistic and based on our COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCE AT BLU BEARING & JERSEY TACTICAL where we worked in the most elite units of the US Army & Law Enforcement Teams.

COURSE SCHEDULE:
- DAY 1: Protector Mindset (Classroom) | Shoot, Move & Communicate (Hostage Rescue CQB) | Forcible Entry Techniques (Breaching Facade) | Forcible Entry Practical Application (Real Building/Doors)
- DAY 2: Scenario Based training | Commercial Venue/Real Doors | Simulate a real-world experience
COURSE LOADOUT:
This course will be all Simmunition-Based, and you will be provided with the training RIFLE and PISTOL for this course.
- Department/Agency Sim Bolts/Pistols are authorized with an email approval from Blu Bearing ***Email admin@blubearingsolutions.com for approval
The course is not specific to JERSEY TACTICAL Breaching Equipment.
- All are encouraged to bring and use any department/agency-issued breaching equipment for Inward/Outward doors.
- All are allowed to use the JERSEY TACTICAL equipment during the course but are Not Permitted to use it for their end-of-course scenario exercises If they own other equipment.
- If you do not have any breaching equipment, you will be provided with the breaching equipment you need for the course.
Bring your Active Threat Response gear, including your body armor and pistol belt/holster.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
- Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
- Wear clothing suitable for training in any weather; pants must have belt loops.
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses, or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Tactical or work issued gloves
- Earmuffs and earplugs (Electronic Preferred)
- Lunch/Water
